In 2008, Nicolas Bartholomée founded the Aparté label, an institution that acts as an interface between modern recording technology and the highest artistic standards. Since then, Aparté has continuously relied on lasting and trusting partnerships that always leave room for creativity - a long-standing collaboration with artists such as Christophe Rousset and Ophélie Gaillard is on an equal footing with the constant promotion of young talent.
A complete recording of all Mozart symphonies has just begun with the orchestra il pomo d'oro under the direction of the renowned Mozart specialist Maxim Emelyanychev, which contrasts early and late works by the composer and combines them with solo concertos.
After two recordings of harpsichord works by Pancrace Royer (1703-1755), Christophe Rousset now turns to a new facet of the composer as conductor of his ensemble Les Talens Lyriques: in the orchestral suites based on operas, most of which have been recorded for the first time for this album, his talent for refinement and lyricism and, especially in the dance movements, his unique sense of harmony come to the fore in an impressive way.
