Samuel Hasselhorn has made a name for himself internationally both as a lieder singer and on the opera stage since winning the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2018. Currently a member of the ensemble at the Nuremberg State Opera, he will make guest appearances at the Deutsche Oper (Tannhäuser/Wolfram) and the Berlin State Opera (Barber of Seville/title role) in the 23/24 season and will begin the five-year "Schubert 200" project together with Ammiel Bushakevitz at Harmonia Mundi. The central component is the recording of five CDs with Schubert songs, which trace the work of the last years of Schubert's life.
The first CD ("Die schöne Müllerin") was released in September 2023, the last one will be released in 2028, the 200th anniversary of Schubert's death.
"Die schöne Müllerin" marks the start of the "Schubert 200" project, with which Samuel Hasselhorn and Ammiel Bushakevitz will celebrate Franz Schubert's song oeuvre in a total of five albums until 2028.
